Please get in touch if you are interested in joining the club and let us know your preferred court positions. This year (2025) we are holding trials in May, but will continue to recruit over the summer for the season starting in September.
We have three teams who play in divisions 3, 4 and 8 of the Avon League. During the season we train on Tuesday evenings at Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh and matches are played on Saturdays at City Academy and Abbeywood.
All new members are offered three free sessions. These sessions are as much for you to try us out, as for us to try you out! They are an opportunity to find out what the club and training sessions are like. If you enjoy the sessions, and we think that you are a good fit for one of our teams, then you can choose to join us as a full member.
Bristol & West membership
Membership fees for 2025/26 season are £28 per month for members over 18 or those in full-time education. As a new starter, you are entitled to three ‘taster’ sessions free of charge. After this time you need to set up a Standing Order for club membership. This is paid directly to the club bank account each month. The club fees cover the cost of weekly training sessions, court fees, league entry, umpires, balls, bibs, first aid kits etc. and the general running of the club. Additional costs are the annual Englad Netball affiliation costs (see below) and if buying your own club kit for matches (either new or pre-loved kit). Occasionally the club may invite specialist coaches or fitness trainers to take a session, which may require an extra contribution towards costs.
England Netball (EN) affiliation costs
The affiliation fee for this season is £46.50 for members over 18. This includes the England Netball fee, County fee, Regional fee and a Bristol & West fee. AENA rules state that players must be affiliated to England Netball to ensure that they are insured during training sessions and while playing matches.
To affiliate, please speak to New Members committee member.
You cannot play for Bristol & West Netball Club until you have been affiliated.
Kit
Our kit is currently provided by Viper10. Each player must buy her own kit. Orders are placed twice a year. For further details and kit orders, please speak to Kit Secretary committee member.
Communication
The club will communicate with all members mainly through Whatspp, and also through Heja, email and Facebook. The club maintains an email distribution list which you can ask to be removed from at any time. All messages and on-going conversations regarding matches, training and socials will be on the club’s and team WhatsApp groups. We also make use of Heja app.
We ask that all members share their mobile number with their team captains. This allows the captains to communicate directly about match arrangements, and keep everyone updated if there are any changes. Captains will also use your email to discuss your availability for matches.
